The Maine Fire Department is located in the hamlet of the Town of Maine, on McGregor Ave. On average,
we run roughly 160 emergency calls annually. These calls do not include medical assistance calls as we do
not have a med team. We meet every Tuesday night from 6:45 to usually 8:45ish for meetings and trainings.
The fourth Tuesday of every month is the company business meeting.
The fire service offers many areas in which one can serve. It is like playing on a team and we all work
together, everyone can do something. From interior firefighting to driving the trucks to assisting at
the scene moving tools, to fire police, to marching in the honor guard, to offering a helping hand at the
station with food preparation and maintenance, or taking pictures at drills and calls, it all helps in
immeasurable ways. It also offers a camaraderie that is unlike anything else. Besides serving side by
side at emergency calls, we attend parades, fund raisers, dinners, and other social events regularly.
