| Maine Fire Knocks Trailer Fire - 1/17/2009 |
On Saturday morning, January 17th, Maine Fire was toned out to a trailer fire on NYS Route 26.
Fortunately for the home owner, both Maine Fire and our surrounding mutual aid departments were
already in quarters when the call came in as it was Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Day for
Broome County. Due to a quick response, the fire damage was held mostly to the enclosed awning
and exterior siding of the trailer. The fire, which was caused by an electrical short, was knocked
down before it was able to get into the framing of the home. Thanks to the Maine fire crew, who
had been out for half the night at a mutual aid structure fire in Lisle just hours before, for
their dedication to the community. Also, a thanks to our mutual aid, which included West Corners
Fire, Union Center fire, Glen Aubrey Fire, Northern Broome Fast Team, & Endicott Fire's Fast Team.
