| Maine Fire Department responds to a house fire |
Friday, April 6th, Maine Fire responded to a reported house fire in the Hamlet of Maine.
Within 4 minutes, Assistant Chief 33-A & Engine 33-2 arrived on the scene to find light
smoke coming from the rear of the house. As crews quickly suppressed the fire, Pumper
Tanker 33-1 as well Engine 98 out of Union Center Fire, arrived on the scene. Crews then
proceeded to check for extention into the rest of the home using a thermal imager. The
fire was caused by a shortin the wire which ignited the beam. Thanks to a quick response
from both Maine Fire as well as the homeowners who were present at the time and called it
in, fire damage was kept to just the rear corner of the house. Also a special thanks to an
excellent response from our mutual aid which arrived from West Corners Fire, Glen Aubrey
Fire, Union Center Fire, and Maine Ambulance. Also, we would like to thank photographer Hank Hawver
for taking and developing the pictures for this article for us.
