| Remodel gives new face to Maine Fire Station |
Maine Fire is proud to unveil their newly remodeled meeting room. This project was a long time in coming as the room has
been untouched since its construction in the late 70's. It really ties a lot of beautiful features together and gives the
members something to be proud of and enjoy in their leisure time. Some of the main features of the room include Maine's
finest engine - our 1924 Chevoret antique which is on display in the rear of the room under the accent lighting. Another
gorgeous attraction is the the flag case and built in oak trophy cases behind the head table. The flag case displays one
of the original American flags that was flown over Ground Zero following the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. To
the left of the flag is a blue fire helmet that was worn by one of our members who went down to NYC to help in the recovery
efforts. The flag is highlighted on either side with a display case of numerous awards aquired by the Maine Fire Honor Guard
as well as several plaques awarded to the Maine Fire Department for years of service to the Town of Maine and surrounding
communities. Last, but not least, part of the project entailed a 52" LCD TV, complete with wall mounted speakers to be used
for trainings and classes. All work was done by NCC Construction of Maine.
