Friday, March 9, The Maine Fire Department Fast Team is once again, moving forward. March 9th marked the kickoff
date for Northern Broome Fast Team, which is three departments Fast teams combined to form one.The Northern Broome
Fast Team is a group of highly trained, specialized firefighters from all 3 departments that work together at large
incidents and extreme situations to keep everyone safe. For instance, if a firefighter goes down inside of a burning
building, the fast team would be the people to go in and get him out at all costs. The Northern Broome Fast Team is
comprised of Maine Fire, Choconut Center Fire, and Whitney Point Fire. These three departments, who have been training
frequently for nearly four years now, have dedicated countless hours to training and through their hard work have made
this team possible.A special thanks to Choconut Center Fire Chief Randy Shear, Whitney Point Fire Chief Nick Skulley, Whitney
Point Fire Assistant Chief Mike Sura, and Maine Fire Assistant Chief Blake Pomeroy for thier part in making this team a reality.
